  • STRIDE Spring Fling! Starting at 6:00 at the East Greenbush Firehouse on Philips Road. Put on your dancing shoes, because the STRIDE Dance is ready to swing.... the Music will be rocking and the kids will be hopping.  Please sign up early for this memorable and fun event for teens 13 and over.  A current application must be on file. Please register with debersold@stride.org or call the STRIDE office at 518-598-1279 for this Special event.

5/31  (Saturday)

  • Freihofer's 21st Community Walk.  1:00pm. This annual fundraiser is a favorite among many of our athletes and volunteers alike. Walking side by side to help raise money, public awareness and interest for STRIDE.   • STRIDE Classic Golf Tournament - A long fairway of fun and friendship as the fourth annual STRIDE Classic.Golf tournament tee’s off at the Country Club of Troy.  This year’s fundraising event promises to be the best one yet.  Fun, food, prizes and a lot of Golfing is going on. Cost: $150 per person. For more information on playing, donating, becoming a sponsor, or making a contribution, please call the STRIDE office at 518-598-1279.

6/15  (Sunday)

  • CampSTRIDE at Thompsons Lake- Weekend trips at NY State Parks include fun activities such as archery, beach games, Swimming, canoeing, sailing, volleyball, ghost stories and food….lots of food! Advanced Registration necessary for this popular weekend of unlimited Fun. A current application must be on file in order to attend.

Dates to be Announced:

New Rochelle Sailing Begins: 6-8:00pm, New York Sailing School. The wind in your hair, the smell of the water, the noise of the gulls, and the sail at your command.  You will experience all this with instruction led by certified sailing instructor and STRIDE Skipper Pete Corsi. Four nights of classroom learning instruction at the New Rochelle Marina, followed each weekend with a day of sailing on the waters of the Long Island Sound on Sonar boats owned by the Sailing School.  To reserve your spot at the helm or for additional questions you may call Peter Corsi-at 914-393-6928.  Reserve early, because we have only ten student crew positions to fill.  So “ready about” & “Hard to lee”!  Let’s go sailing!  A current STRIDE application must be on file.

  • Learn to Ride a Bike Camp at Hudson Valley Community College District Bike Camp #1

    Partnering with Down Syndrome Resource Center and Albany Chapter of the Autism Society of America, STRIDE is developing a program in the Capital District for kids with special needs to learn how to ride a bike.  Each camper will be assigned one session and it will be the same session for five consecutive days.  Hudson Valley Community College will be our host venue for the camp. The program can potentially handle up to 40 participants to learn to ride within the restraints of the week camp, and we fully expect to fill the program. Volunteers are needed!! Saratoga and Lake George Sailing Begins in Classroom: 6-8:00pm, STRIDE office STRIDE offers classroom-learning before boarding our rigged sloops for a weekend of fantastic sailing to experience the push of the wind.  A one-of- a-kind curriculum, STRIDE offers the chance to learn to sail rigged sloops, after five weeks of indoor classroom instruction followed by a weekend of sailing at YMCA's Camp Chingachgook on Lake George, NY. Classes are held at the STRIDE office in the Rensselaer Community Center, during the summer evenings, with format provided by the "Start Sailing Right" manual of the American Red Cross and U.S. Sailing. Individual learning needs are addressed, and boats are adapted to meet the needs of every child.  Mr. LJ Whitney is Captain of this program. To register for programs, please call Rosemary Corsi, reservation receptionist at (518) 383-8561. A STRIDE application must be on file. Lake George Sailing in Classroom: 6-8:00pm, STRIDE office.
